The International Foundation for Education and Self-Help (IFESH) was established as a non-governmental, nonprofit, charitable organization. IFESH aims to reduce hunger and poverty, empower people through literacy, train and place the unskilled and unemployed in jobs, provide preventive and basic health care to individuals in need, deal with population and environment problems, develop employment through economic development activities, foster cultural, social, and economic relations between Africans and Americans, particularly African Americans, and others.
